Safety Measures

Safety is important to us.

To ensure proper use of our products, please read our precautions thoroughly.

Massage Chairs

Health Precautions

  • Massage chairs are known to lower blood pressure. For those suffering from low blood pressure, use only for 20 minutes, twice per day.

  • Elderly adults should follow the same protocol; 20 minutes, twice per day. Also observe for signs of broken skin/weak areas and avoid the rollers pressing on these areas.

  • For use more than twice a day, use only for 15 minutes, maximum 4 times.

  • Elderly people with assisted walking devices or balance issues will require assistance when entering and exiting the chair or bed. Leaving the chair requires hip flexion restrictions post hip replacement; seek assistance.

  • For elderly and those suffering from injuries, we recommend using a lower intensity setting. Consult you medical practitioner for appropriate rehab and injury management.

  • Frail clients may need to avoid use of the arm rests due to excessive pressure.

  • Clients should also avoid massaging and heat on infected areas to avoid spreading the infection and further injury. Observe for excessive redness.

  • Take caution with intensity of rollers on bony landmarks such as the spinous process of your spine, your hip bone and your shoulder blades.

  • Pregnant women: should not use the massage chair to combat lower back pain, advise your health professional. If you are experiencing excessive and sporadic bursts of lower back pain when pregnant, contact your health practitioner.

  • If taking medicine, speak to your health practitioner before use.

  • It is recommended to drink 600ml of water after use to assist with toxin release and rehydration.

  • If unsure or you require assistance, please seek assistance from an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist from the Perth Wellness Centre for more recommendations and guidelines.
